FAQ

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a design sprint-like event where you code to problem solve an idea from concept to prototype in 24 hours. In this regard, "hack" means to create or make something (in particular to solve a problem). You can create absolutely anything: a computer game, mobile app, machine learning project, it is super open-ended with absolutely no programming experience needed. As long as you get your idea on paper, be able to tell others your idea, and work with others, you can win.

I don't have any experience?

You need absolutely zero programming experience. Hackathons are an amazing place to learn! There will be over fifty professional developers volunteering, who can help you kick start whatever project idea you have. Remember, as long as you get your idea on paper, be able to tell others your idea, and work with others, you can win. NuevaHacks is an incredible place to come learn for new and experienced programmers!

How much does it cost?

A total sum of exactly zero. Our remarkable sponsors make this incredible event free for everyone!

What do I need to bring?

Bring a laptop, charger, student ID (if you have one), as well as your registration form. You won't need a sleeping bag, as this hackathon isn't overnight.
